Cash register software

The most important task of any cash register is to allow the staff to serve customers quickly and flawlessly. Considering that each venture imposes different requirements on cash register applications, several versions of cash register functionality exist.

POKLADNA module description - Restaurants

532 The Pokladna module of the SEPTIM system for restaurants is the closest one to the idea of a classical cash register. Mostly, it is a special cash register computer with an integrated touch display. The hierarchical placement of recipes on the screen can be configured in the Manager program. The groups of recipes can be additionally distinguished by colors or product logos. The cash register is controlled by the touch screen, which allows selecting functions (recipes) easily. Additional sales of packed goods can be billed for using barcode readers. The restaurant cash registers are mostly fitted with receipt printers and can be also connected to any number of order printers for the kitchen. In a restaurant, standard PC printers can also be partially replaced by the wireless ORDERMAN printers or by dispensing machines.

POKLADNA module description - Canteen

Cash registers10 A different structure of functions is expected from a cash register in canteens then in restaurants. A PC-type cash register is used with a keyboard, usually fitted with a customer display and with a reader for identifying customers. Additional sales in canteens are often handled using barcode readers. The main difference between cash registers in canteens and restaurants lies in the fact that in restaurants, more accounts are open at the same time at individual tables, while in a canteen, usually only one account is open at a time, as customers are served one after another. If the canteen is equipped with an ordering system, the customers identify themselves, check the ordered meal, which is served and billed for at the same time. The staff can then bill for any items sold additionally. Apart from the differences in opening accounts, the canteen cash register works very similarly to the cash register for restaurants.

POKLADNA module description - Fitness, cashless zones

Turnstile To allow your staff to work to work with maximum efficiency, extension modules have been developed for working with payments in cashfree areas. These types of registers are always fitted with an identification system. In principle, two types of cash registers are used - entry/departure type and internal type. The entry/departure register opens a guest's account and closes it upon the guest's departure. The internal cash register only permits working with already open accounts and will not allow closing them. At the internal register, each guest is identified by a card obtained upon opening the account. The functions of these two types of registers can, of course, be combined, e.g., the entry/departure cash register can be used to sell additional goods. Various automated systems for registering payments for services can act as internal cash registers too. These can be, for example, turnstiles at the water-slide on the premises of a swimming pool, or the arrival/departure controls in payed zones with prices determined by the duration of the customer's stay (gym, sauna, parking, etc.).

POKLADNA module description - Shop

The shop-type cash register is the simplest type of a SEPTIM cash register. The basic version supports scales and barcode billing. Store management is simplified, only piece-wise registering without recipes is provided. The operation basics are the same as for the cash register in canteens. Each cash register provides the following functions:

  • Automatic calculation of selling prices according to your settings
  • Automatic store unloading
  • Cancelling orders (items are not subtracted from the store)
  • Possible order availability check (whether the goods are in the store)
  • Allowing “happy hours”
  • Billing for all consumption and services

The following can also be a part of the register setting:

  • Printing orders in the kitchen and preparation rooms
  • Interconnection with the customer database - each consumption or service can be paid cashfree
  • Unlimited number of price categories and discounts
  • Depositing money to an account and issuing a receipt
  • Opening one-use day accounts - at the guest's arrival when issuing the user identification card, at the guest's departure - payment of the bill and cancelling the account
