The connection of coffee machines is slightly different from the connection of beer or postmix drinks. Considering the broad array of coffee machines and their diverse operating modes, two principal communication modes with the coffee machines are distinguished generally – binary and serial:

• binary – the coffee machine informs the system unidirectionally about the dispensed goods
• serial – the bar counter communicates with the coffee machine in both directions and therefore the credit system work much better

Both types can be controlled easily by ON-LINE communication with the cash register and by engaging the credit or debit mode.
