Septim system description

SEPTIM is a software system designed and developed for use where store and sales records need to be simplified allowing to serve customers with maximum speed. It is therefore ideally suited for use in restaurants, canteens, shops and other ventures with direct customer service.

SEPTIM supports the individual workplaces in an enterprise and presents all information collected from the venture transparently in order to allow efficient management.

SEPTIM runs on common PCs with Windows or Linux operating systems.

SEPTIM can be installed in ventures of any size, with an unlimited number of users, but is suited to serve in small restaurants as well. Moreover, the program operation is not dependent on the local computer network, the individual user stations can be also connected by modem or via the internet.

Program architecture

SEPTIM is a modular program. The basic core can be freely combined with additional software modules, hardware support modules and with hardware itself, so that the result always suits the needs of a specific venture. It is, for example, logical that the owner of a wine shop does not need software for monitoring turnstiles or similar things.

Based on the requirements of individual facilities, we have developed multiple basic variants of the SEPTIM system. Each of them focuses on a different type of venture:

Each of these basic variants contains the POKLADNA and MANAGER modules. The POKLADNA module is designed for the communication of the staff with the guests (billing for their consumption and for services) and also with the kitchen and the store. The MANAGER module is mostly used for store management, customer and order records or for evaluation. Both parts are interconnected and use the same databases of products, customers, etc.

Store management

Allows keeping precise records of the flow of materials and goods. The store management module offers an array of useful functions:

  • receiving to store
  • transfers between stores
  • discarding items
  • selling items
  • demolitions
  • records of food expiration dates
  • unloading stores at the time of billing
  • unloading according to the composition of individual recipes
  • unloading according to predefined write-offs
  • using multiple different measurement units
  • supplier database
  • calculating present store prices
  • substitutions
  • normalizing meals for mass dispensing
  • inventory print sheets

The program records all changes including the user and time, when the change was performed.

Price categories

This module allows setting different price levels for each sold item so that each center or each customer can have their specific price lists. For example, it can be used to set advantageous prices for regular customers or for employees. Furthermore, the price categories allow using “Happy Hours”. The billed prices are calculated by the cash register according to preset rules, so that the staff cannot bill a price different from the one defined in the manager module.

Customer database

Individual work with specific customers (especially with regulars) is more and more frequent in modern ventures. The Customer database module allows keeping customer records, managing their customer accounts and offering advantageous price categories and discounts. Customner accounts can be operated in credit or debit mode, or in a combined mode as well. Each customer may be identified using a card.

Payment for impulses and time intervals

In fitness centers and other ventures, where paid self-services are offered it is usual to equip the customers with proximity cards. These can then be used when entering and leaving such facilities (when the time spent inside is billed for) or for a one-time use of a specific service (drink machine, water-slide entry gate, etc.).

Evaluation tools

To make a real value of the information about, e.g., sales, profits, store situations or the profitability of individual products, it is necessary to collect and evaluate it. SEPTIM allows treating all data and parameters statistically and thus provides a base for accountancy. Among other, the following information can be obtained using SEPTIM:

Recipe database

A special type of the Septim system designed for synchronizing the recipe database (recipes, ingredients, storage items, prices …) between multiple locations.

Septim Bank

Is a system suitable especially for restaurants and other chains. It allows using common databases of customer and loyalty cards at multiple locations. Each transaction performed using a customer card is authorized on-line at the central server using a secured internet connection.
